Global Awareness Self-Assessment Test

1. "Am I walking gently" - that is, living simply, mindful of how my life affects the earth and her resources?.

2. In what way do I honour the life of all living things, the order of nature, the wildness of wilderness, the richness of the created world?

3. Can I name specific actions I am taking presently to reverse the destruction of the earth's ecosystems, and to promote her healing?

4. Have I evaluated my own use of resources like gas, oil, water, light, clothes, transportation, unnecessary calories?

5. Which resources have I consumed less of in order to promote rightful sharing of the world's limited resources?

6. Are there products, services and conveniences, even those I may consider as necessities which I could do without, in order to help preserve life on earth?

7. How willing am I to adjust my "comfort level" re: heating and cooling in order to save energy?

8a. How often have I considered the thought of what happens to the waste products that I generate?

8b. Do I dispose of waste in ways that are regenerative, or at least that do no harm?

9. Do I avoid to spend and/or invest money in ways that result in others doing things to our world that I would not do myself?

10. Do I care for the environment and the world's various peoples by such specific actions as: recycling aluminum, glass, paper, plastic

• consuming natural, nutritious food in preference to processed food
• refusing to buy non-biodegradable products such as aluminum foil, styrofoam products, plastics and certain detergents
• using as few aerosol cans as possible, and attempting to use cheaper and safer substitutes
